Staining Do's and Don'ts

Why Use Stain?
Decks are great places to relax and entertain. Along with outdoor accessories such as furniture, siding and fences – they really are like outdoor rooms. They require maintenance to keep them protected. Exposure to outdoor weather, bugs, dirt and grease can damage your outdoor wood over time.

How Stain Helps
Stain and sealant provide your outdoor wood with a shiny, protective covering that resists water, dirt, grease and other contaminants. It helps to enhance the look and beauty of wood, protects from rotting and warping, and increases the overall life. Use on new wood, pressure-treated wood or weathered wood.

The Do's and Don'ts of Staining

• Do not apply when rain, dew or frost is present or expected within five hours.
