2023 Colour of the Year: Hue will you be?

A new year means a fresh start – could it also mean a fresh coat of paint? We asked you to reimagine your space with one of these four CO-OP IMAGINE® paint colours, and now we’re ready to share Co-op’s 2023 Colour of the Year!

We looked at four versatile tones that can be used as bold accent walls, tranquil whole-room hues, or pops of colour on trim, furniture, cabinets and more. These paint colours create moods, draw your attention and make statements about the type of room you’re trying to create.

These four trending tones for 2023 create feelings of luxuriousness, serenity, jubilance, or enchantment. For this year’s Colour of the Year, your favourite is the bold, rich, navy Full of Stars.

Mood: Luxuriousness

Colour: Full of Stars

Full of Stars invokes the night sky to make you feel right at home. This rich navy is majestic but also so easy to use in a variety of settings.

What’s cozier than a movie night on the couch? A bold, velvety blue Full of Stars feature wall will make the film really pop when it’s showtime, and make your television blend more into your décor while it’s off.

When it’s time for bed, an all-blue bedroom feels snug and secure, with the dark colour creating a restful space. Brass or gold accents will add to the luxurious feeling.

Not feeling the blues? These three runner-up shades will brighten up your day!

Mood: Serenity

Colour: Winter Whisper

Rest and relaxation are what Winter Whisper is all about. This soft, pale green is there for quiet moments and deep reflection.

Try Winter Whisper with soft wood tones and silver hardware in your bathroom for a spa-like retreat. It would also work well in a bedroom with light, bright linens to create a fresh, restful room. Open up the windows and let the sun shine in!

Mood: Jubilance

Colour: Insane Mango

There’s nothing subtle about this optimistic yellow-orange. It’s big, it’s bold and it’s here to make a positively uplifting statement!

Insane Mango would make a sensational accent wall in a bright living room, paired with leafy green houseplants and darker wood tones. Want to feel more energized in the kitchen? A sunny coat of paint on your cabinets will perk the place right up.

Mood: Enchantment

Colour: Lobster Tail

Bring a little magic into your home with Lobster Tail, a nostalgic salmon colour. It’s a playful hue that will warm up a room.

Paired with soft whites and lighter wood tones, Lobster Tail on one or four walls would make a cozy, inviting nursery. In a living room, pair pink walls with bright, bold blues in your furniture or art for contrast, and then settle down in a super stylish, yet inviting and comfortable room.

We can’t wait to see where these trendy tones for 2023 take you. Want to keep living in colour? Remember to follow Co-op on Instagram for more inspiration!
